In the sequel, Kevin watches what would appear to be a fake sequel to that movie, "Angels with Even Filthier Souls", featuring the same over-the-top gangster. A sixth film was released digitally on Disney+ on November 12, 2021, titled Home Sweet Home Alone. Devin Ratray, who played Buzz McCallister in the first two films, reprised his role in the film. The 2016 Christmas-set horror film Better Watch Out includes a scene where a character who is obsessed with the Home Alone films demonstrates how, in real life, it would be deadly for someone to be hit in the face with a paint can swung from a distance. On the set, Pesci and Stern both had difficulty refraining from cursing, which became annoying to Pesci, since Culkin was on set as well.
The best Home Alone 2 quotes remind fans of the franchise of just how great the writing and acting in this sequel could be. In Polish, the movie is called Kevin sam w domu (meaning "Kevin home alone"). In Poland the film "Home Alone" became a phenomenon and part of the Christmas tradition. At the 12th Youth in Film Awards, Macaulay Culkin won Best Young Actor Starring in a Motion Picture.

Troy Brown and Leon Delaney were stuntmen for Pesci and Stern, respectively. An injury had occurred between Pesci and Culkin during one of the rehearsals for the scene in which Harry tries to bite off Kevin's finger. Pesci said in the People interview, "I did sustain serious burns to the top of my head during the scene where Harry's hat is set on fire." If you find yourself watching Home Alone this holiday season and thinking to yourself, I wonder if they have ‘Angels With Filthy Souls’ on Disney+?

Marley points out his granddaughter in the choir, and mentions he has never met her since she is the daughter of his estranged son. The booby traps this time are much more painful and nasty, so it's all the more amusing for us. Who can possibly fail to laugh at Marv getting the shock of his life when he tries to turn on the taps? If the movie were to be released now I doubt if it would be let away with a PG rating.

Cinematographer Julio Macat recalled that Pesci was more difficult to work with than Culkin. The older actor believed some of the dialogue was not of a quality commensurate with his acting ability. He also resented the early unit calls, since they prevented him from starting his day with nine holes of golf as he preferred to do. After he took the assistant director by the collar one day to complain about this, daily call times were moved back from 7 to 9 a.m. On the other end of the schedule, the crew had limited time to film the many nighttime scenes, since Culkin could not work any later than 10 p.m. When they barge into Kevin's room, the fake gangster movie has a scene where one of the characters is accusing another of cheating on him.
From the fake gangster movie "Angels with Dirty Faces", to Kevin McCallister's traps for the burglars, it is a fun holiday film that can anyone in the spirit of the season. Much like Die Hard 2, Home Alone 2 is a 90s sequel that places the same main character into the same kind of situation as the first movie and even has a line where they point that out. While Kevin didn't leave his house last time, he did accidentally separate himself from his whole family at Christmastime.

Concerned that the film might exceed that amount, Hughes met secretly with 20th Century Fox before production to see if they would fund the project if Warner proved inflexible. According to executive producer Scott Rosenfelt, a copy of the script was "clandestinely" delivered to Fox, bypassing the legal restrictions that would have otherwise prevented Fox from seeing it until the project was in turnaround. Warner demanded that it be cut by $1.2 million; the producers responded with a memo arguing that the budget could not be cut any further. Unconvinced, Warner shut down production the next day, but it quickly resumed when Fox took up Hughes on his offer. Kate realizes mid-flight that Kevin was left behind, and upon arrival in Paris, the family discovers that all flights for the next two days are booked, and that the phone lines are still down back home in Chicago.

Home Alone 2 is a carbon copy, but it's also much better and more complex a movie than the first. In another mad rush to the airport the McCallisters make a point of remembering Kevin this time, but he gets lost in a crowd at the airport and follows a man who looks like his dad onto the wrong plane. Thirteen of the McCallisters are going to Miami for Xmas (do they never stay at home?) but Kevin is headed for the Big Apple, and he's going to have that once-in-a-lifetime vacation he's been wishing for. Kevin watched Angels with Filthy Souls and was startled by Johnny's death, pausing the film and calling for mother. Malcolm McDowell, Jaime King and Donal Logue star in the film about a murderous Santa who picks off people one by one. Lauren (she/her) is the digital content director of the Hearst Lifestyle Group, where she oversees online content and strategy for Good Housekeeping, Woman's Day and other Hearst titles, including SEO, video, social media and e-commerce efforts.
Principal photography took place from February 14, 1990, to May 8, 1990, over a course of 83 days. The only interiors of the house used for filming in the film were the main staircase, basement, attic and most of the first floor landing, while all the other interiors of the house were duplicated on a sound stage to allow more room for equipment and crew. It was built in the gym and empty swimming pool of the former New Trier High School building, previously used by Hughes for Uncle Buck and Ferris Bueller's Day Off, where the production company had already set up its offices. The tree house in the back yard was built specifically for the film and dismantled after filming ended. The church exteriors were shot at Trinity United Methodist Church in Wilmette, Illinois, while the interiors were shot at Grace Episcopal Church in Oak Park, Illinois.
To create the illusion that the film was an authentic 1940s gangster film, the scene was filmed on black-and-white negative film, and Johnny's office featured props from that era. Like much of the film, most of the sequence was shot with low, wide angles that, according to journalist Darryn King, "capture the action as if a child were perceiving it". Somehow, Johnny is able to get away with saying "Hell," even though the film was supposedly released during a time when strict Hollywood censor Joseph Breene, who was not likely to tolerate such language, ran the Production Code Administration. However, Kevin may have been watching a scene that was censored during the film's original release, but was rediscovered and released for VHS. Even without Breene's authority, some state censorship boards would've been less likely to tolerate Johnny's use of the word "Hell" as well.
20th Century Fox assumed responsibilities following secret meetings with Hughes. Filming took place between February and May 1990 on location across Illinois. Although unconfirmed, it is possible that the movie is the film mentioned at the beginning of Home Alone which Frank McCallister did not allow Kevin to watch. The film's original script ends with Marv and Harry in prison, watching Angels with Filthy Souls with fellow inmates. With a bigger story (okay, some of it re-used) and more characters and a better playground for Kevin, Home Alone 2 manages to be a superior sequel.

Unless you fear your child is going to set your head on fire with a blowtorch. Cagney stars as Rocky Sullivan, a New York City crook who takes the fall for an attempted armed robbery in exchange for $100,000 and not ratting out his co-conspirator Jim Frazier, played by Bogart. But once he’s out of prison, Sullivan has a tough time collecting his money from Frazier — a payment Frazier has no plans of making — quickly pitting the two gangsters against each other. Instead, the movie-within-a-movie was created specifically for “Home Alone.” The 80-second clip was shot inside an abandoned high school in early 1990, at the beginning of the movie’s production, as Vanity Fair reported in 2015.
There's loads of fun to be had in Kevin's antics, and Tim Curry is downright brilliant as the mischievous Concierge. He scams his way into the Plaza hotel where a suspicious Concierge gives him mighty evil looks at every encounter. He goes to Duncan's Toy Chest, the biggest toy store in town and takes many scenic photographs. Though it is a little unnerving now seeing Kevin on the roof of the World Trade Centre. For the television version, about twenty minutes of this movie was edited in very small sections, because this movie is exactly two hours long. In order to watch the full version on television, the time slot is extended to two and a half hours.

In 2017, about four million people (11.6% of Poland's population) were watching it on Christmas Eve and in 2018 again in Christmas Eve the film recorded the highest viewership with 4.51 million viewers. By the time the film had run its course in theaters, Home Alone was the third-highest-grossing film of all time worldwide, as well as in the United States and Canada behind only Star Wars ($322 million at the time) and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial ($399 million at the time), according to the home video box. Box Office Mojo estimates that the film sold over 67.7 million tickets in the United States.
